Classic Baked Ziti

Tonight's dinner is Baked Ziti.  I got this recipe from food.com.  Here is the link, http://www.food.com/recipe/classic-baked-ziti-22176, and here is what you need to make it :

1lb lean ground beef $2.50
1 cup onions, chopped $0.40
2 cloves garlic, minced $0.04
1 (32oz) jar meatless sauce $1.40
1 cup chicken broth $0.12
1 tsp dried oregano leaves $0.10
1 (16oz) package ziti pasta, cooked and drained $1.08
2 cups (8 oz) shredded mozzarella cheese $1.99
1 cup grated parmesan cheese $1.00

Total Cost to Make: $8.63 makes 8 servings

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  In a large skillet, cook ground beef, onions and garlic over medium-high heat for 6-8 minutes or until beef is browned; stirring frequently.  Stir in sauce, chicken broth, and oregano.  Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.  Stir 1 cup of the sauce mixture into the cooked ziti noodles.  Spoon 1/2 of the ziti mixture into a 13x9x2 inch baking dish.  Sprinklc with 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese and 1/2 cup of the parmesan cheese.  Top with 2 cups sauce, then remaining ziti and remaining sauce.  Cover and bake 20 minutes.  Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese.  Return to oven and bake uncovered for 10 minutes or until heated through.

Haha, you're about 24 hours too late! That was last nights dinner :) But I do have leftovers. We will have to have a girl's night and cook something new one of these nights with the kids. Well... maybe with the kids :)
